Dr. James Maidhof received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Cornell University and his DVM from Tufts University. He completed a one year rotating small animal internship at the VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center of Westbury. 

Dr. Maidhof’s professional interests include medicine and surgery, particularly of exotic animals. During his training he completed externships with the Bronx Zoo as well as various exotic animal hospitals. He has a strong interest in reptilian conservation and works with wildlife rehabilitators in the area. 

Dr. Maidhof grew up on Long Island, NY. When not at the hospital he can often be found outside in search of native wildlife or caring for his own menagerie of exotic animals at home.
