Jen has been working at the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital since March 2003. She started here as an assistant and after high school enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at Bergen Community College. She graduated in 2008 with an Associate of Applied Science for Veterinary Technology and went on to pass the Veterinary Technician National Board Exam. She has continued her work here at VCAH as a Licensed Veterinary Technician ever since.
After working as an LVT for several years, Jen took an interest in performing managerial tasks and returned to college to receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2017. In January 2020, she earned her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation by completing a rigorous list of managerial requirements including passing a national exam. Jen is currently the Veterinary Nursing Manager here at VCAH and loves the time she gets to spend with her patients and coworkers.
In 2023, Jen decided again to further her education and is currently working on obtaining her Master’s degree in Veterinary Forensics through the University of Florida.
Jen has a special interest in anesthesia, pain management, exotic animal medicine, and wildlife. Additionally, she gets to share her love of veterinary medicine with the next generation of vet techs by also working as an adjunct professor for Bergen Community College and Westchester Community College. When she is not working, she spends her free time riding her horses Lakota and Levi. She shares her home with her two cats (Loki and Neeko), German shepherd (Kona), bearded dragon (Yoshi), pigeon (Darby) and her boyfriend, Bobby.
