Jennifer Battiato

Jen began working at Valley Cottage Animal Hospital in March of 2003 as a kennel assistant. Her love for animals and the veterinary profession led her to her career choice of becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She graduated in 2008 from Bergen Community College with an Associate of Applied Science for Veterinary Technology and passed the Veterinary Technician National Board Exam.

After several years working as an LVT, Jen took an interest in performing managerial tasks and returned to college to receive her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2017. In January 2020 she earned her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation by completing a rigorous list of managerial requirements including passing a national exam. Jen is currently the veterinary technician director here at VCAH and loves the time she gets to spend with her patients and coworkers. Jen has a special interest in anesthesia, pain management, exotic animal medicine, and wildlife. She also gets to share her love of veterinary medicine with the next generation of vet techs by working as an adjunct professor for Bergen Community College. When not working she spends her free time riding her horse, Lakota. She shares her home with her 2 cats, German shepherd, bearded dragon, and her boyfriend, Bobby.
